Where your plants come from
Most plant retailers either run a warehouse or grow their own. We do neither, and that is deliberate.
A network of growers, not a warehouse
Your plants come from a network of established U.S. greenhouses concentrated in Southern California and Central Florida, climates built for tropical foliage, with proximity to the country’s biggest plant-growing regions. We partner with this network through a fulfillment program that handles the picking, packing, and shipping for every order. The growers themselves are small to mid-size family farms, many of them in operation since the foliage industry took off in the 1950s and 1960s.
Each pack-out greenhouse sits within roughly 150 miles of the growers it works with. That keeps plants in the soil they were grown in, in the climate they were grown in, until the moment they are packed for you. No regional distribution centers. No second warehouse stop. No re-potting in transit.
What we do
- Curate the catalog. We pick which species and varieties make the cut, write the listings, choose the photography, and decide how plants are grouped and sized on the site.
- Stand behind every order. Every plant ships with our 30-Day Plant Guarantee, so if it arrives damaged or shows transit-caused decline within the first 14 days, we replace or refund. You don’t deal with the grower or the carrier; you deal with us.
- Handle support directly. Questions, claims, weather holds, and address changes all come to our team, not a vendor helpdesk.
What our partners do
- Grow domestically. Plants are 100% grown in U.S. greenhouses. No international imports, no quarantine plants, no overseas tissue cultures dressed up as established specimens, and no wild-collected stock.
- Pack each order to size. Custom boxing for everything from 2-inch starters to 5-foot statement plants. Wood fiber over the soil, a plastic moisture sleeve secured with a zip-tie, then a paper outer bag, plus a wooden stake for tall or top-heavy plants. The pot is braced inside the box so it can’t shift in transit.
- Ship from two coasts. A bi-coastal greenhouse network in Florida and California means most orders spend only 2–4 business days in transit, regardless of where you live.
From order to doorstep
- You place the order. Inventory is verified live against the partner network at checkout.
- Order packs and ships within 1–4 business days. Either the Florida or California greenhouse (whichever holds the stock for your species) pulls the plant from the production bench and packs it the same week.
- 2–4 business days in transit with USPS or FedEx ground service.
- Weather check. If your destination is forecast below 45°F (cold) or above 95°F (heat) during transit, we add Winter Protection automatically (cold) or hold the order until the window is safe (cold below 25°F or sustained heat above 95°F). See our weather hold policy.
- Plant lands at your door. Unbox right away, photograph anything that looks off, and the 30-day guarantee clock starts.
If something goes wrong
Plants are alive. Sometimes a leaf bruises in transit. Sometimes a plant arrives stressed even though everything was done right. That is why every order is backed by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee, which means if your plant arrives damaged or shows transit-caused decline within the first 14 days of delivery, we replace it or refund you. We issue one replacement per claim; if a replacement also arrives damaged, we refund the order rather than reshipping a third time.
You don’t have to chase the grower or argue with the carrier. Email us once, and we handle it.
